Hi, I'm Kate — the heart behind KR Weddings & Events and a Certified Wedding Planner through the Wedding Planning Society.

 

I've been in hospitality and events since I was 18, and weddings found me in their own time. After my cousin became a planner herself, she was the first to tell me I should be doing this too — but it took a few more years, a move to Nashville, and eventually landing a job at a wedding venue in New York before it truly clicked. I spent time assisting my cousin with her own wedding business in Florida, learning from someone I admired deeply, before finding my way back to the Midwest and starting KR Weddings & Events in 2022.

 

My favorite part of a wedding day isn't the flowers or the timeline — it's stepping into a couple's inner world. I love truly getting to know the people I work with, understanding who they are together, so I can make every detail feel unmistakably them.
